As a child, he faced bullying and found more than just support in Okinawa Kempo Karate; he discovered a path to develop personal strength and self-confidence, allowing him to stand up to his bullies. This personal journey continues to shape our kids' karate training at Kiryoku Dojo today. Because of this focus, our priority isn't just the sport itself, but the personal development of each child.

Our goal is to help the kids:

to defend themselves

to develop self-esteem and inner strength

to focus

to be disciplined and respectful

to improve their coordination skills

The three pillars of the kids karate classes

Basic techniques (kihon)

Forms (kata)

Partner drills

Why Kiryoku Dojo is the right place for your child

At Kiryoku Dojo, we practice Okinawa Kempo Karate – a practical, effective style designed for real-world situations. Our primary focus isn't on the sport itself, but on personal development. While we want children to learn self-defense, it's even more important to us that they build self-confidence and inner strength. These are taught through play to our Little Dragons (ages 4–6). Here, having fun and building group spirit take top priority.

What Your Child Will Gain From Our Program

Coordination and Fitness: Karate improves not only fitness but also coordination.
